Scheduled runs
The poll asks the answer engines all day and needs no schedule. The site audit runs on a rhythm: on Growth, Portfolio and Enterprise, one full run a month and a change run a week; on Starter, one change run a month against the baseline. The schedule on each site starts them for you. Scheduled runs are ordinary runs; they use the same allowance, appear in the same lists, and send the same alerts. A shipped play’s check on your pages runs on its own clock, not on this one.
Setting it up
Section titled “Setting it up”Open the site and find Schedule. A new site starts with the plan rhythm already set: the full run on the day of the month the site was added, the change run on the same weekday, both at 03:00 in your timezone. Change the day, the weekday, the hour or the timezone; untick a run to stop it; pause the whole schedule for a migration.
The panel shows when each run will next start. The overview lists a site that has not run for 30 days.
What happens at the time
Section titled “What happens at the time”The scheduler checks every minute. When a run is due it checks three things before starting:
- Allowance. If the site has used its full or change runs for the month, the run is skipped and the reason shown on the site page. Nothing is charged.
- Verification. Where domain verification is required, an unverified site is skipped.
- A run in progress. If a run on the site is queued or running, the scheduled one waits for the next check rather than colliding with it.
A change run also needs a completed full run to compare against; until the first full run finishes, the weekly run is skipped with that reason.
Why 03:00
Section titled “Why 03:00”Sites are quietest then, and a full run of a few hundred pages finishes well before the working day. Pick any hour you prefer; the crawler’s rate limit is the same at any time.
