Buy a plan

Starter, Growth and Portfolio are bought in the app, after creating your account. Until a site’s domain is proven, the workspace has the access preview of its first domain and nothing is analysed or measured for it. The poll on your topics and the first site audit start once the plan is paid and the domain is proven, in whichever order: proving the domain starts them when the plan is already active, and paying starts them when the domain is already proven; proving it before paying starts nothing until the payment lands. Enterprise is agreed with us instead: talk to sales.

The setup screen (/setup in the app) offers the plan the welcome recommended, and the others, monthly or annual; Settings, Plan offers the same. Annual is ten months’ price for twelve. A plan chosen on the pricing page is carried into the app as the recommendation.

The card, the billing address and the business name are entered on Stripe’s checkout, never in the workspace; a business can add its VAT number, and the price stays the same. Stripe is the merchant of record; Billing and plans covers the invoice. If you leave the checkout, nothing is charged, and the setup screen offers it again.

Payment does not wait for it, but invitations, and email to addresses other than your own, do. The email carries a 6-digit code and a link; either one confirms the address.

The setup screen shows it in three steps:

  1. Your site, from the welcome. It can be changed until it is verified.
  2. Prove it’s yours, one of two ways, described on Verify a domain:
    • Connect Search Console (starts now): an owner or full user of the site’s property verifies it at once.
    • A DNS TXT record (or a meta tag): add it, and Vercatus checks for it on its own, every few minutes at first and then hourly, for 14 days. Check the record checks at once. If someone else manages the domain, Send these instructions to IT gives them a link and the record.
  3. First audit, which starts on its own the moment the site is verified.

You can leave the screen and come back; Home shows the same steps until the first audit is done. If the site is still not verified after a day, and again after three and seven days, the owner gets a reminder by email.

  • Topics and the poll, once the plan is active and the site is verified. Vercatus builds the site’s topics from what it can read about the business and its market, and the poll starts asking the answer engines about them through the day. Answer Share fills in over the first days; The first days says what to expect.
  • The first site audit, the moment the site is verified. It reads the site’s pages as each AI crawler receives them and writes the findings the page plays and Foundations are built from. On Growth, Portfolio and Enterprise it is the full analysis and counts as the month’s full run; on Starter it is a baseline crawl, read without the model and outside the allowance. When it ends, the run report arrives by email.

While you wait, the setup screen lists what makes the start better, each optional: the competitors you already know, Search Console (its buyer searches join your topics as private questions; the privacy policy says where they go), Slack or Teams alerts, and inviting the team.

Within 14 days of the first payment, and while no run has started, the owner can press Cancel and refund on the Plan page: the subscription is cancelled and what you have paid is refunded in full. A run starts when the domain is verified, so a domain that cannot be verified is refunded. The terms state the rule.
