Terms of service

The service

Vercatus analyses websites you control and reports how machines — search engines, AI answer engines and the systems behind them — can reach, understand and cite them. Findings are evidence-based estimates, not guarantees of ranking, traffic or citation.

Your obligations

• You may only add domains you own or are authorised to have analysed, and you verify that control before production runs.
• You keep your credentials and API keys confidential and are responsible for actions taken with them.
• You do not use the service to attack, overload or scrape third-party sites, or to circumvent their access controls.

Plans and payment

Plans are a fixed monthly price for a fixed allowance of sites, runs and pages, as described on the pricing page at the time of purchase. Nothing is metered or billed beyond the plan without your written agreement. Fees are invoiced monthly in advance and are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise.

Your data

You own the content of your sites and the reports produced from them. We process it only to provide the service, as described in the privacy policy, and we do not use it to train models. You can export your reports at any time and delete your workspace on request.

Our crawler

Our crawler identifies itself, signs its requests, honours robots.txt and rate limits. If your site blocks it, we stop and tell you; we do not evade access controls.

Availability and liability

We aim for the service to be available continuously but do not guarantee it. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability under these terms is limited to the fees you paid in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.

Termination

Either party may end the subscription at the end of the current billing month by written notice. We may suspend the service immediately if it is used in breach of these terms.
