VercatusPerplexity sources and freshness
PerplexityBot is designed to surface and link websites in Perplexity's search results and, per Perplexity, is not used to crawl content for AI foundation models; Perplexity-User visits pages to answer a user's question and generally ignores robots.txt because a user initiated the request. Blocking PerplexityBot therefore removes a site from Perplexity's index but not from user-initiated fetches.
