CWV ranking signal
Google states that Core Web Vitals are used by its ranking systems, but that there is no single page-experience signal, that it always seeks to show the most relevant content even if the page experience is sub-par, and that a great page experience can contribute to success where lots of helpful content is available for a query. Good Core Web Vitals reports do not guarantee top rankings: passing CWV is a hygiene bar and tie-breaker, not a lever that lifts a poorly answering page above a good one.

AGrade A: official documentation or a standard. A grade describes the provenance of the sources above; it is not a probability that a change will work. The effect basis says how the size of the effect is known: measured by a study, taken from an industry report, only documented without a size, or not quantified.
