VercatusPaywall markup and crawler access
Google documents paywalled and subscription content as a legitimate case where Googlebot sees content users do not: mark the article with isAccessibleForFree: false and identify the gated sections with hasPart / cssSelector, which helps Google distinguish it from cloaking, which violates spam policies. Googlebot (and Googlebot-News where applicable) must still be able to fetch the content that should be indexed. AI Overviews and AI Mode remain subject to Search's preview controls (nosnippet, data-nosnippet, max-snippet).
