Stripe shared payment tokens

Stripe's Shared Payment Tokens (SPTs) let an agent grant a seller scoped use of a buyer's saved payment method: each token carries usage limits (currency, max_amount, expires_at), can be revoked by the agent, and the seller charges it by confirming a PaymentIntent with payment_method_data[shared_payment_granted_token]; the shared_payment.granted_token.deactivated event fires when it is consumed, expired or revoked. SPTs are available in the US, Canada and 32 European countries including Hungary. Stripe's Agentic Commerce Suite (11 December 2025) adds a hosted ACP endpoint for near real-time product, price and availability data plus checkout, and Stripe's docs name UCP or ACP as the protocols for selling through agents. Microsoft's Copilot Checkout (8 January 2026, US; launch partners PayPal, Shopify and Stripe) adopts ACP, and Stripe powers its part with ACP, SPTs and the Suite; Shopify merchants were enrolled automatically with an opt-out window.

AGrade A: official documentation or a standard. A grade describes the provenance of the sources above; it is not a probability that a change will work. The effect basis says how the size of the effect is known: measured by a study, taken from an industry report, only documented without a size, or not quantified.
