Citation support and completeness
TREC RAG 2026 evaluates generated answers on two separable axes: completeness, scored against topic-specific information criteria (nuggets), and citation quality, as weighted citation precision (the share of supplied citations that support the sentence they are attached to) and weighted citation recall (the share of answer sentences supported by their citations). A complete answer with unsupported citations and a well-supported but incomplete answer score differently; a single grounded flag conflates them.

BGrade B: peer-reviewed or a large controlled study. A grade describes the provenance of the sources above; it is not a probability that a change will work. The effect basis says how the size of the effect is known: measured by a study, taken from an industry report, only documented without a size, or not quantified.
