Copilot uses Bing index
Microsoft Copilot grounds web answers in the Bing search service: it derives short search queries from the prompt, sends them to Bing and composes its response from what Bing returns (Microsoft documents this for Microsoft Copilot and Copilot Chat). Bing's AI Performance report counts a site's citations across Copilot, AI-generated summaries in Bing and partner integrations, and Microsoft recommends IndexNow to keep the version AI systems reference current. Eligibility therefore follows bingbot crawling and Bing indexing.

AGrade A: official documentation or a standard. A grade describes the provenance of the sources above; it is not a probability that a change will work. The effect basis says how the size of the effect is known: measured by a study, taken from an industry report, only documented without a size, or not quantified.
