Snippet controls

nosnippet and max-snippet apply to all Google search results, including AI Overviews and AI Mode: nosnippet prevents the content from being used as a direct input for them and max-snippet limits how much can be used. data-nosnippet excludes marked sections from snippets. Google lists nosnippet, data-nosnippet, max-snippet and noindex as the controls for limiting what its AI features show.

AGrade A: official documentation or a standard. A grade describes the provenance of the sources above; it is not a probability that a change will work. The effect basis says how the size of the effect is known: measured by a study, taken from an industry report, only documented without a size, or not quantified.
