Schema actions unconfirmed consumers
schema.org Actions (announced April 2014) describe what can be done with a thing. potentialAction applies to any Thing, and the action types include BuyAction and OrderAction (under TradeAction), ReserveAction (under PlanAction) and SearchAction. An EntryPoint can give an RFC 6570 urlTemplate and an httpMethod, and '-input' annotations such as query-input "required name=q" describe the inputs. Offer also has checkoutPageURLTemplate, an RFC 6570 template for an offer's checkout page. The best-known consumer is gone: on 29 November 2024 Google removed its sitelinks search box, which read WebSite SearchAction markup, from Search and from its documentation. Google's AI optimization guide also says generative AI search needs no special schema.org markup. We located no answer engine or browser agent that documents reading potentialAction or checkoutPageURLTemplate.

AGrade A: official documentation or a standard. A grade describes the provenance of the sources above; it is not a probability that a change will work. The effect basis says how the size of the effect is known: measured by a study, taken from an industry report, only documented without a size, or not quantified.
