AI generated product content labels
Google's guidance on generative AI content (updated 1 October 2026) asks site owners to fact-check and review all AI-generated content, including titles, meta descriptions, structured data and image alt text, before publishing, and to consider telling users how automated content was made. For e-commerce it states that, under Merchant Center policy, AI-generated images must carry IPTC DigitalSourceType TrainedAlgorithmicMedia metadata, and AI-generated product data such as titles and descriptions must be supplied separately and labelled as AI-generated.

AGrade A: official documentation or a standard. A grade describes the provenance of the sources above; it is not a probability that a change will work. The effect basis says how the size of the effect is known: measured by a study, taken from an industry report, only documented without a size, or not quantified.
