Helpful content in core

Google's ranking-systems guide lists the helpful content system (announced 2022) as retired: in March 2024 it became part of the core ranking systems, which now use a variety of signals rather than one. Core updates happen several times a year; Google says improvements can take effect in a few days but it may take several months for its systems to confirm that a site as a whole now produces helpful content, sometimes not until the next core update, although smaller unannounced core updates can also lift content.
